Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of recent acute care experience and a passing score on a telemetry exam.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 1900-0730
• Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
• Floating required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active WI RN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in med/surg specialty
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, covering adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and phlebotomy
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with gastrointestinal and genitourinary care including ostomy management and bladder irrigation

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to med/surg and telemetry patients, including those with orthopedic, neurological, and substance withdrawal needs
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers with 3 years of recent inpatient med/surg experience will be considered
