Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and Cerner proficiency.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 4x12 schedule (19:00-7:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Every other weekend required (6-7)
• Every other holiday required
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Requirements

• Active RN license - MD or Compact required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Skills required: MS/Tele, cardiac monitoring, genitourinary/renal care, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Flu vaccine required
• Driver's license copy required at submission, with address matching license for local status determination
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Must complete facility-specific compliance modules within one week of contract signing
• Labs and drug screen appointment must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• At least one prior travel assignment required for consideration
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract, must be submitted with initial profile
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
