Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active NY RN license and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a 528-bed acute care teaching hospital
• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7
• Alternating Day (7a-7p) and Night (7p-7a) 4x12 hour shifts
• 13-week contract assignment
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required within skillset
• Specific unit assignment provided at time of offer
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not a compact state)
• Current BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must have worked in acute care within the past 6 months
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and Rapid Response/Code team activation
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen administration/tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Magnet-recognized facility certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
• Facility is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, offering specialized services including cardiac, cancer, neuroscience, pediatric emergency, and birthing center care
• Scrubs must be any combination of navy blue and white
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for RN positions
• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without incurring charges
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO cannot be considered
• Previous staff must have a 6-month system-wide break before returning
