Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Rochester, NY requiring an active NY RN license and EPIC charting experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within an acute care teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday coverage required, if needed
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Floating required within skillset
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without charge

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not a Compact state)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• MS/Tele experience including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including peripheral line care and management
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tank use, and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for this RN role

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Participate in Rapid Response/Code team activations as needed
• Scrub color requirement is any combination of navy blue and white
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning staff must have a minimum 6-month break system-wide before reapplying
• Candidates should not have more than 10 days of requested time off (RTO)
• All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application
• The hospital is a 528-bed Magnet-recognized, Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
• The hospital is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, offering specialized services through several institutes including cardiac, cancer, neuroscience, and pediatric emergency care
