Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• MS/Tele unit with 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (18:30-7:00)
• 36/36, 36/48, and 48/48 schedule options available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units as needed
• Cardiac monitoring including telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA certification is the only accepted form)
• 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience managing cardiac drips, heparin protocols, and PCA
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and feeding tube management
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide care for cardiovascular patients including post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac surgery cases
• Support renal patients including pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• Must live 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework (CBLs)
• EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing, with a maximum of two attempts allowed
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
