Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an acute care surgical and bariatric unit requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care surgical and bariatric unit with MS/Tele patient population
• 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-7:00)
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 scheduling options available
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• MS/Tele and Med/Surg experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, and peripheral line care
• Experience with GI care including colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management
• Neurological/psychiatric care experience, including CVA management preferred
• Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA medications
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and remote telemetry monitoring
• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management
• Experience with renal failure and surgical drain management

Additional Information

• Provide clinical care within a surgical and bariatric unit setting
• Contract RN team members are expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside patient care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online modules completed as part of nonbillable orientation
• Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing, with cancellation risk for failed attempts
• Drug testing must be completed 12-14 calendar days prior to start with willingness to repeat if needed
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Previous employment history with the health system may impact eligibility
