Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with 1 year of MS/Tele experience for a night shift position requiring a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg unit caring for Ortho/Spine/Med/Surg patient population
• 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 schedules available
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Floating required
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required (AHA ACLS and NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele and Med/Surg experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience managing colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tubes
• Experience administering heparin, insulin, and PCA medications
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and telemetry
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac
• Must complete Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing
• Must complete drug test 12-14 calendar days prior to start
• Must be clean-shaven or have trimmed facial hair to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across Ortho trauma, total joint replacement, renal, neurological, and surgical patient populations
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules, averaging 4-5 non-billable hours
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility with no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility may cancel one shift biweekly without financial penalty due to census decreases
