Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an MS/Tele position in a long-term acute care hospital, requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital setting with 66 staffed beds
  • MS/Tele unit assignment
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within scope to like units or sister campus depending on booking
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC state or compact) currently in hand - pending licenses not accepted
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • LTAC experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
  • Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, accessing/managing ports, central line care, peripheral line care, starting and maintaining IVs, feeding tube care, isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/wound vac, interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and PCA management
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients in a long-term acute care setting
  • Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
  • Must not reside within a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be eligible for the travel position
  • Holiday coverage required for one holiday during the assignment
  • RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days and subject to manager discretion
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Previous employees must have been gone for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
  • Extensions limited to twice for night shift assignments, after which a 6-month waiting period applies before reapplying
  • Candidates with background or license issues within the past year will not be considered
