Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a mixed-acuity oncology unit requiring current acute care experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Mixed-acuity MS/Tele unit caring for both PCU and Med/Surg patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Rotating 12-hour day/night contract; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, and OCN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with current acute care experience in the specialty within the last 12 months
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Skills in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy management required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Chemotherapy administration and BiPAP/CPAP management skills preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

• Provide direct nursing care to a mixed-acuity population of oncology and medical/surgical patients
• Willingness to learn and grow nursing practice within a specialized oncology setting encouraged

• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to consideration, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio state fingerprinting is required promptly upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to a fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet
