Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nights RN for a Nephrology/Med-Surg Stepdown unit requiring at least one year of Med/Surg and Stepdown experience.

Details

• Medicine/Nephrology unit in a hospital setting
• Cares for a variety of patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex, including nephrology and dialysis patients
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours)
• Requires knowledge of central line care, foley care and management, and end-of-life care
• Must know proper care of dialysis access sites, including avoiding improper use of HD catheters or fistulas for blood draws

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Charge nurse experience is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients, including medication administration and IV/blood product management
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Documents patient responses to treatments and communicates changes in orders
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Full DOB and SSN required for consideration
• Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no start date flexibility
• 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or termination of assignment
• Previous OU Health workers may reapply only after a 6-month separation following a prior 26-week assignment
