• Scheduling: Block scheduling may be considered
• Weekend Requirement: Approximately 50% weekends based on unit needs
• Floating: Required to float to like Adult ICU units as needed
• Charting System: Epic preferred

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience required; Neuro ICU experience preferred
• 2 years of critical care nursing experience preferred
• Valid Oklahoma RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience caring for patients with strokes, traumatic brain injury, or neurological disorders preferred
• Comfort with floating to like Adult ICU units
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Strong critical care nursing skills and ability to work in a high-acuity hospital environment

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Neuro ICU patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients with neurological conditions, including stroke and brain injury
• Support advanced neurocritical care procedures and therapies such as EVD management, ventilator management, rapid intubation support, and central venous catheter care
• Administer medications and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as clinically indicated
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, interpret clinical data, and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV teams, and other interdisciplinary partners to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and high standards of critical care practice
• Assist with discharge planning and patient and family education as appropriate
