Travel Nursing Job Details

- End Date: February 15, 2027
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; three shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Patient Population: Adults
- Typical Assignment Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
- Weekend Expectations: Weekend nights are generally Friday and Saturday; Sunday nights are not classified as weekend shifts
- Floating: Required to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
Neuro ICU Travel RN Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in a Neuro ICU or comparable high-acuity intensive care setting
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers with the required clinical skills may be considered
- Valid compact RN license or Ohio RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; AHA certifications required
- Current flu vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered
- Experience with Epic electronic health records
- Proficiency with ventilator management, telemetry, IV starts, arterial lines, central lines, EVDs, and intracranial pressure monitoring
- Experience caring for patients with acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, seizures, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular disorders, and post-neurosurgical needs
- Education must be completed through an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program
- Two professional references required, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
- Ability to complete credentialing, fingerprinting, and required documentation promptly
Neurocritical Care RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive bedside nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a Neuro ICU environment
- Monitor and manage patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhage, seizures, meningitis, spinal conditions, and complex neurosurgical diagnoses
- Care for mechanically ventilated patients and manage BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, suctioning, and other respiratory support needs
- Perform neurological assessments and recognize changes in patient condition requiring immediate intervention
- Manage EVDs, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and other invasive monitoring equipment
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive infusions, administer emergency medications, and follow IV insulin and continuous sedation protocols
- Interpret dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead ECGs, administer blood products, and maintain safe medication and infection-prevention practices
- Support patients recovering from craniotomies, spinal procedures, cerebrovascular surgery, and other complex neurosurgical interventions
- Float to appropriate units as needed while maintaining safe, patient-centered care
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the care team
