Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Neurological (Neuro ICU) Nurse in a hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adult patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and post-surgical neuro cases. The position requires night shifts and offers a dynamic environment focused on patient recovery and safety.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Licensure in the state where the facility is located, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications, two years of ICU Neuro experience, neuro ICU-specific skills such as blood product administration, vent care, neuro assessments, and management of neuro-specific equipment.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center, prior neuro ICU experience, and travel experience.
• Additional Information:
  • Patient age group: Adults
  • Daily census: Approximately 14 patients
  • Patient ratios: 2 patients per nurse during nights and weekends
  • Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
  • Special procedures may include EVD management, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and hypothermia protocols
  • Equipment used may include external ventricular drains and EFM monitoring
  • Onboarding requires completing core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing, with onsite modules during orientation.
  • Compliance rules restrict staffing from certain counties and require state or compact licensure in hand at the time of submittal.
  • Previous staff must wait at least one year before reapplying as a traveler.
