Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience, with a TX or compact RN license required.

Details

• Neuro ICU setting at a Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Mixed acuity unit (ICU/PCU/MS) accepting all trauma patients including neuro cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Weekends, floating, and holidays may be required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior teaching hospital experience required
• Prior Trauma Level I experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required for consideration
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, and airway suctioning
• Skilled in CRRT/CVVHD and management of acute/chronic renal failure
• Skilled in continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Skilled in CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and post neurosurgery care
• Skilled in hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun and traumatic brain and spinal cord injury management
• Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Skilled in IV insulin protocols, isolation precautions/PPE, and phlebotomy
• Skilled in cardiovascular sheath removal
• State-issued ID, SSN, and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex neuro, cardiovascular, and multisystem organ dysfunction patients
• Military-issued certifications accepted; AHA preferred; ARC certifications not accepted
• RTO limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request accepted during Nov-Jan holiday season, subject to management approval prior to contract signing
• Local candidates within 90 miles are accepted
