Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU travel assignment in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

  • Acute care hospital Neuro ICU setting
  • Weekend night shift schedule: Friday and Saturday nights, every other week (rotation every 4 weeks)
  • Night shift hours: 19:00–07:30 (3x12-hour shifts)
  • Estimated patient ratio of 1:1–2
  • Required skills include IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
  • Epic EMR used; experience preferred
  • Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Block scheduling and paired traveler scheduling are not available for this position
  • Final schedule details will be clarified by the manager during the interview

Requirements

  • Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
  • Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry, ventilators, and intracranial pressure monitoring
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as a second reference; coworker references are not accepted

Additional Information

  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as traveling candidates
  • Former facility employees are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation from the facility
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to or at the time of consideration and built into the contract; RTO is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
  • Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting an assignment; candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently
  • Multiple parking permit options are available for purchase near the medical center, including garage and surface lot access with shuttle service
