Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for patients in the Neuro ICU, including those with stroke, post-craniotomy, and neuro trauma diagnoses.
• Manage arterial lines, ventilated patients, and central lines.
• Administer continuous IV sedation and manage CVA/acute stroke cases.
• Monitor intracranial pressure (ICP) and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias.
• Implement isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Neuro ICU.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Proficient in post-neurosurgery management and care of neuro-intensive patients.
• Experience with special procedures such as EVD placements, arterial and central line placements, intubation, and lumbar tap.
• Ability to float within the scope to meet facility needs in ICU and PCU settings.
• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions.
