Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro ICU position at a large Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and active CT or compact RN license.

Details

  • Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a large, academic Level I Trauma Center with 1,500+ staffed beds
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Average patient ratio of 1:2
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
  • Charting on Epic EMR
  • No on-call requirement
  • Parking available at $125/month

Requirements

  • Active CT or compact RN license required; pending license accepted (CT license takes 15–21 business days to issue, so early application is strongly advised)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience within the Neuro ICU specialty required
  • Neuro ICU experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Experience at a large trauma center required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Proficient skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, ABG interpretation, CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Preferred skills: post-neurosurgery management
  • Candidates must not have any prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license
  • 1 professional reference required for consideration

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
  • Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
  • RTO of up to 7 days can be approved; RTO exceeding 7 days requires additional facility approval
  • Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
  • Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
  • COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
  • Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or other emergency response activities as needed
