Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Neuro ICU RN for a night shift assignment at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center
• Average patient ratios of 1:2 on both day and night shifts
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required, pending license accepted
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
• Experience with care of ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs required
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management required
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills required
• ICP monitoring and post neurosurgery management experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex patients including stroke, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgical cases
• Manage ventilated patients and continuous IV sedation as needed
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Requests for RTO greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
