Position Overview
The RN will work in the Neuro ICU, providing care to critically ill neurological patients. The average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 on both days and nights. Neuro ICU experience is required.

Respiratory Care
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Ventilator management
- Care of ventilated patients
- HFNC
- ABG interpretation
- Respiratory failure
- Pulmonary edema and pulmonary embolism
- ETT/NT suctioning
- Fresh tracheostomy care
Cardiovascular & Critical Care
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- CVP monitoring
- FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring
- Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Continuous IV sedation
- Continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade
- Emergency and procedural sedation
Renal & IV Therapy
- Acute kidney injury (AKI)
- CVVHD/CRRT
- Intake and output monitoring
- Urine output assessment
- Arterial line management
- Central line and PICC management
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Blood product administration
- TPN/Lipids
Additional Skills
- Management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- IV insulin protocols
- Management of high-output drains
- Massive transfusion protocols
- Isolation precautions/PPE
Required Certifications
- BLS – Required
- ACLS – Required
- NIHSS – Required
Requirements & Additional Details

- Must be willing to float within scope based on facility needs
