Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a PA or compact license and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• Work in the Neuro ICU of a hospital environment
• Critical care patient population including CVA/acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and post neurosurgery cases
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Rotating 12-hour shifts between 0700-1930 and 1900-0730, with shift rotation typically occurring every 6 weeks
• Required to work every other weekend

Requirements

• Active RN license, PA or compact, currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (PALS preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Trauma experience preferred, including Trauma Level II
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• At least one completed travel assignment required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, ventilator management, CRRT/CVVHD, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, EVD and ICP monitoring, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration
• Completion of PA fingerprinting and ChildLine registration required within 48 hours of signing a contract
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex neuro ICU patients, including management of multisystem organ dysfunction and post-surgical neuro care
• Does not accept local candidates within 75 miles of the facility
• Any previous permanent or per diem employment with Penn Highlands Healthcare must be disclosed and must have ended at least 18 months prior to applying as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
