Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a 19-bed Neuro ICU position in Lexington, KY, with strong ICU experience required and Neuro ICU experience strongly preferred.

Details

  • 19-bed Neuro ICU unit in a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes CVA, neurosurgical, carotid surgery and stent, stroke, surgical post-op, cardiac interventions, sepsis, general surgery, and complex critical care patients
  • Supports a comprehensive stroke program
  • 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
  • 14-week contract

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in KY or a compact state currently in hand
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of staff ICU experience prior to traveling
  • Recent acute/critical care travel experience required
  • Strong Neuro ICU experience strongly preferred; experienced ICU nurses with neuro patient care experience will also be considered
  • ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Current professional references from leadership (unit manager, coordinator, or director) required for consideration
  • MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

  • Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, treatment implementation, patient and family education, discharge facilitation, and participation in quality improvement activities
  • Clinical practice is evidence-based and guided by hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
  • Care coordination is conducted in collaboration with an inter-professional team
