Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift Neuro ICU position requiring a KY or compact RN license and prior staff ICU experience.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed Neuro ICU serving CVA, neurosurgical, carotid surgery, and carotid stent patients as part of a comprehensive stroke program
• Also cares for surgical post-op, cardiac interventions, sepsis, general surgery, and complex care ICU patients
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Requires 3-4 weekend shifts per month

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years recent staff ICU experience required prior to traveling
• Recent acute/critical care travel experience preferred
• Strong Neuro ICU experience preferred; ICU nurses with neuro patient care experience will also be considered
• Current references from unit leadership (manager, coordinator, or director) required

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, implement individualized care plans, and coordinate care with the interprofessional team
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measure initiatives
• Promote a positive, healing environment through patient and family-centered communication
