Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Contract Jobs – Camden, New Jersey
Join a specialized Neuro ICU team in Camden, New Jersey, as a travel Registered Nurse (RN) caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex neurological conditions. This 13-week, on-site travel nursing contract is an excellent opportunity for experienced Neuro ICU nurses to provide critical care for patients recovering from stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, brain surgery, tumors, seizures, and other neurological emergencies. Located in South Jersey near Philadelphia, Camden offers waterfront attractions, cultural venues, dining, and convenient regional transportation.
Neuro ICU Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Camden, New Jersey
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360–$2,480
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- End Date: January 25, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Unit: Neuro ICU; 18 beds with an average daily census of approximately 12 patients
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Floating: May float between ICU and PCU and among five designated hospitals in the regional network based on staffing needs
- Scheduling Notes: Block scheduling is not available. Requested time off must be submitted with the application, and time off during the first week is not permitted.
Neuro ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or a valid Compact RN license
- At least 2 years of recent Neuro ICU nursing experience, including experience within the past 12 months
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS certification
- Strong neurocritical care experience with stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, post-neurosurgical, seizure, and tumor patients
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia assessment during orientation within the required timeframe; two attempts are permitted
- Epic electronic medical record experience preferred
- Ability to float to ICU, PCU, and other designated hospitals within the assigned skill set
- Completion of required pre-employment labs and orientation modules within established deadlines
Neurocritical Care Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric neurological patients in the Neuro ICU
- Assess and manage patients experiencing acute stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, seizures, neurological tumors, and post-craniotomy or post-neurosurgical conditions
- Monitor intracranial pressure, external ventricular drains, lumbar drains, arterial lines, and other critical care equipment
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and respond promptly to changes in neurological or hemodynamic status
- Titrate vasoactive medications, continuous sedation, neuromuscular blockade, and other critical care infusions according to orders and protocol
- Perform central line, PICC line, and IV care, including starting and maintaining peripheral IV access
- Administer blood products, emergency medications, and other prescribed therapies safely
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
- Float to ICU or PCU assignments and other designated locations as needed while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care
