Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU Neuro) Nurse position located in the Saint Louis area. This role involves caring for adult patients with neurological conditions such as ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes, neurotrauma, and CNS infections. The position offers the opportunity to work in a Magnet-recognized and Level I Trauma Center, with a focus on complex neurocritical care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Missouri or compact state nursing license, two years of experience in an ICU, including at least two years in a neuro setting. Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Certifications preferred: TNCC, BSN, and 10 hours of stroke education. First-timers accepted.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a comprehensive stroke center setting, proficiency with neuro-specific equipment such as EVD and bolt, and familiarity with ICP monitoring, vasoactive medication management, and neurotrauma procedures.
- Float: Float within service line or other intensive care units may be required to meet facility needs.
- Additional Information: Candidates must pass Relias EKG exam. Will Need to complete 10 hours of stroke education during orientation, with NIHSS counting towards part of this requirement.
- Certification and License Notes: Must submit license in hand at time of submittal. No local candidates within 75 miles accepted. No RTO requests beyond seven days per 13-week contract unless approved by management.
- Contract specifics: 12-hour night shifts, starting from 09/14/2026. No additional RTO or schedule changes post-placement.
- Clinical Experience: Two years in neuro ICU required, including experience with neuro-specific procedures and patient diagnoses.
