Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring compact CT license and neuro ICU experience.

Details

• Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a Short Term Acute Care Level I Trauma Center
• Average patient ratio of 1:2 on both days and nights
• Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active or pending CT RN license (Compact accepted)
• Minimum 2-3 years of RN experience required, with consideration for 1.5 years if Level I Trauma or travel experience is present
• Neuro ICU experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury management
• Experience with ventilator management, arterial line management, and titrating vasoactive drips preferred
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological patients including CVA, TBI, and post-neurosurgical cases
• Located at a large academic Level I Trauma Center
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Travelers may be asked to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Flu vaccination required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccination and booster required except for approved religious or medical exemptions
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous perm staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
