Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS certification required
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing or acute care RN experience preferred
• Comfortable caring for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as CHF, sepsis, cellulitis, GI bleeds, DVT, pulmonary embolism, and COVID
• Ability to titrate Heparin drips
• Willingness to float to other Med/Surg-type units as needed
• Ability to pass a negative drug screen
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and patient-centered communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to a diverse adult Med/Surg patient population
• Complete assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient progress
• Manage patients requiring oxygen support up to 6L nasal cannula, with stable BiPAP/CPAP as needed
• Collaborate with charge nurses, crisis RNs, PCTs, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Perform or attempt IV starts and use unit resources when additional support is needed
• Support remote telemetry workflows and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
• Float to other like units when assigned
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and uphold high standards of patient care
