• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday rotation
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: Unit orientation plus EPIC and professional orientation

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg or acute care RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• Strong post-op care experience preferred
• Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to ask for help when needed
• Professional bedside manner and a team-oriented attitude
• Comfort working in a fast-paced hospital environment with varied patient acuity
• Ability to float to other units with similar experience as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for post-op surgical, trauma, overflow medical, and wound care patients
• Manage common patient needs including dressing changes, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN
• Monitor patients on telemetry as assigned and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team as appropriate
• Support patient safety and timely care in a unit with established charge nurse and house supervisor coverage
• Work closely with PCTs and interdisciplinary team members to assist with vitals, ADLs, turning, ambulation, and accu-checks
• Respond to patient changes quickly and escalate concerns appropriately
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and follow unit procedures and protocols
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment while delivering compassionate patient care
