Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro (Travel Contract)
Location: Mount Sinai Hospital, 1468 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10029
Start Date: August 31, 2026
Shift: Nights – 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: 36 Hours/Week
Department: Neuro Unit (8 West)


Must Have: Candidates must possess recent hospital-based Neuro experience and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced neurological unit.
 
Job Summary
Mount Sinai Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro to join its Neurology Unit for a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide high-quality, evidence-based patient care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional outcomes for neurological patients.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and manage patients with neurological conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR.
  • Participate in bedside shift reports, purposeful hourly rounding, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with patient throughput, resource management, and charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Active New York State RN License
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
  • Minimum 2 years of Neuro nursing experience in a hospital setting (Required)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experienceRequired Certifications
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience caring for adult neurological patients in an acute care hospital.
  • Strong knowledge of neurological assessments, stroke care, seizure management, and post-neurosurgical patient care.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment.
