Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Neuro/Surgical Telemetry Stepdown position requiring MS/Tele experience and recent Epic charting experience.

Details

• Work on a Neuro/Surgical Telemetry Stepdown floor
• Care for patients with neurological and surgical conditions requiring stepdown-level monitoring
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 1845-0715
• No on-call responsibilities
• May be required to float to other MS/Tele units or low acuity ICU
• Requires 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Must be willing to work Memorial Day

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele experience required
• Epic charting experience within the last 12 months required
• Travel experience preferred
• Must pass Epic competency exam upon hire
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to neuro and surgical telemetry patients
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Local candidates and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
• Candidates requiring respirator fit testing must be clean-shaven
