Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring at least 6 months of neuro experience and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Neurology/Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating between units required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required at submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
• At least 6 months of neurology experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with NIH Stroke Scale and neurology diagnoses required
• Skills required include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and care for craniotomy, CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and neurological nursing care including monitoring for stroke, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients
• Must be willing to float to sister facilities near the contracted location
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer; minimal RTO is preferred
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as travelers and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable for RNs
• No fee for parking
