Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Transplant ICU night shift position requiring Level I trauma experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Neuro Transplant ICU of a hospital environment
  • 13-week assignment on night shift
  • Schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), both issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • Level I trauma experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of ICU patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
  • Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data, observing for changes and intervening as necessary
  • Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines and requires all onboarding documentation to be completed promptly with no push starts allowed
  • Returning travelers may extend once for a maximum of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
