Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Neurological ICU/IMCU position at a Level 1 trauma center requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience.

Details

• Neuro ICU and stepdown (IMCU) unit with floating likely between the two
• ICU patient ratio of 1-2 and stepdown ratio of 3-4
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling is generally not approved
• Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in neuro ICU/IMCU specialty required
• Strong neuro nursing experience required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma hospitals required
• Proven success managing critical, fast-paced trauma cases required
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Work history/resume with no employment gaps greater than 60 days required for consideration
• Skills checklist, certification card, and Nursys license verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• Work in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and severe cases
• Mandatory holiday coverage required: either Thanksgiving Day or the day after, plus either Christmas Eve/Christmas Day or New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
