Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Intermediate Care Unit role requiring NV licensure and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in an 18-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at a Level II Trauma Center
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with post ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, sepsis, cardiac, and respiratory conditions requiring moderately complex assessments and interventions
• 3x12 night shift schedule with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required up to competency level based on organizational needs
• Required to pick up one additional shift during each 4-week schedule period
• Schedule may include weekends and holidays
• Uses Epic EMR with training available during orientation or ability to test out

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Medical/Neuro ICU experience preferred
• Experience with vasopressors, titratable drips, art lines, neuro-stepdown patients, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach management required
• Must pass an ECG/Telemetry exam including reading and interpreting rhythm strips
• Minimum of one recent 13-week travel assignment within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families across the full nursing process
• Coordinate care with other professionals as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary, patient-centered team
• Work in an extremely busy, fast-paced Level II Trauma Center serving a 500-mile radius with 800 in-patient beds
• Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (holiday eve and holiday day count as one holiday)
• Facility may cancel up to 48 hours (full or partial shifts) per 13-week contract for low census without penalty
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• A 13-week break is required after ending a prior contract at this facility before returning
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application, as time will not be added at the end of the contract to accommodate it
