Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Mcallen, Texas.

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse position in McAllen, Texas. This role involves providing specialized care for neonatal patients in a 19-bed unit. The ideal candidate will have the ability to admit new patients, work with various ventilators, and collaborate effectively within a team during night shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts with 12-hour shift durations and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications, both to be obtained within 6 months of hire. Candidates must be able to admit new patients to the unit and have experience with different types of ventilators.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with infection prevention procedures, and familiarity with various ventilator types.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required in Pediatrics and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
  • Additional Information: The position requires a team-oriented individual willing to work and demonstrate a positive personality. Uniform code is royal blue scrubs, with a background in infection prevention and neonatal care procedures such as peripheral intravenous line placement and central line maintenance. The unit operates with a staff of 25 employees, including charge nurses and registered nurses, providing critical care to neonatal patients.
