Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Asheville, North Carolina. This role involves providing specialized care to neonatal patients in a busy Level III Neonatal ICU. The position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional capable of managing complex patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Location: 509 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801
- Unit Information: NICU with 51 beds, staffed by approximately 120 clinical team members
- Shift: Night shift, 12 hours per shift
- Schedule: Minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 09/07/2026
- Certifications: Must possess Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; candidates with neonatal intensive care registered nurse (NICU-RN) certification are preferred
- Experience Requirements: A minimum of 2 years of Level III or higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience; no minimum experience required for consideration
- Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 depending on patient needs
- Floats: Floating areas include Pediatrics (Peds), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and Mother Baby (babies only)
- Personnel: 18 RNs and 1 charge RN on night shift, with additional staff including respiratory therapists and technicians as needed
- Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality neonatal care, adhere to unit policies, and maintain detailed documentation in accordance with institutional standards
