Job Summary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in Payson, Utah. This position involves caring for newborns, including those up to 30 days old, in a Level 2 NICU setting. The role requires providing specialized neonatal care in a small, collaborative unit that supports a growing NICU program.
Job Details
Certifications Required: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), STABLE, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Education Requirements: Active license at submission
Location Requirements: Must have 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Certifications listed above, active license at submission, 2 years hospital experience
Additional Information:
Will work primarily in NICU and mother-baby units, with potential training in mother-baby care
Responsible for taking CPAP babies, UVCs, Hi Flow, IVs, and surfactant administration
No ventilators on unit; transfer vented babies
Experience with chest tubes is a plus but not required
No surgeries performed on unit; equipment includes OGs, IVs, Hi Flow, CPAP, Panda warmers, Giraffe warmers
NICU is a small unit, caring for approximately 50 NICU babies annually
Delivery volume ranges from 30 to 40 babies per month
Unit has received recognition, including Womens Services Unit of Distinction for three years
Nurse staff often take FMLA leave, creating opportunities for new team members
Floating: NICU nurses may work in mother-baby units when NICU babies are not present
