Job Summary:
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse position is located in San Francisco, California. This role involves providing specialized care to neonates, including managing complex medical conditions, ventilator management, and working within a Level IV NICU. The position requires adaptability to variable shifts, including day and night rotations.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and STABLE certification.
  • Clinical Skills and Experience: Ventilator management, trach management, telemetry, pulmonary artery lines, umbilical and central line management, chest tube management. Minimum of 3 years experience in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Competence in floating to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU). UVCs and UACs experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: STABLE certification.
  • Additional Information: Ability to float to other UCSF facilities. Submissions must include all employment history with dates, units worked, and manager names for rehire eligibility check. Two references from the most recent employer are required. No mid-contract RTO requests accepted; all RTO to be disclosed at time of submittal with manager approval.
