Job Summary
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) registered nurse position is located in Santa Rosa, California. This role involves delivering high-quality, holistic nursing care to neonatal patients in an acute care setting. The NICU RN will assess, coordinate, administer, and evaluate patient care, including direct patient interactions, patient/family education, and transitions of care, in accordance with facility policies and clinical best practices.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 09/08/2026
- Required Qualifications: California RN licensure, BLS (American Heart Association), NRP certification, 2 years of level III or level IV neonatal experience, charge and high-risk delivery experience preferred, experience with neonatal charting system (Epic), community hospital experience, travel experience required, at least 2 years of professional nursing experience, applicable certifications uploaded with valid expiration dates
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, experience with trauma level I or II (if applicable), neonatal patients 29-34 weeks, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, developmental care skills, neonatal sepsis, neonatal dosage calculations, and advanced respiratory management skills
- Additional Information: The RN will work within a 12-bed NICU unit, providing care to neonates including those requiring advanced respiratory support and developmental care. Responsibilities include administering blood and blood products, managing arterial lines, assisting with high-risk deliveries, and utilizing specialized neonatal equipment. The position requires compliance with onboarding and verifications, including 7-year work history verification and appropriate documentation submission prior to start.
