Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse position located in Renton, Washington. The role involves providing specialized care to extremely premature and premature infants, with a focus on intensive neonatal support within a Level III NICU. The RN will be responsible for managing complex patient cases, utilizing advanced equipment, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote positive outcomes for neonatal patients.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; minimum of 2 years of NICU experience; certifications include Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS); ability to care for gestations down to 32 weeks or greater than 1500 grams; experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist (NAVA), conventional ventilators, and feeding pumps.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic charting system.
- Float: Float to pediatric units or behavioral health units may be required to care for NICU graduates up to 12 months of age or act as a 1:1 sitter for behavioral health patients.
- Additional Information: Unit notes specify that candidates should not have licenses with hits related to medication diverting or endangerment. The department has a neonatologist present 24/7, and the unit utilizes a variety of ventilatory and monitoring equipment including high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), high-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV), and cardiopulmonary support devices. Nurses are responsible for strip reading and bedside charting using EPIC system. The unit requires scrub color of royal blue and an orientation of 1-2 shifts.
