Job Summary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) - Level 3b, located in a healthcare facility, is seeking a qualified Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) registered nurse. The position involves providing specialized care to critically ill newborns across a variety of diagnoses, utilizing advanced equipment and collaborating with a full-team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
Position Description: The NICU nurse will care for patients with conditions such as prematurity, sepsis, and other neonatal complications. Responsibilities include attending deliveries, transferring patients for surgeries, and managing patients on various ventilators and infusion therapies.
Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice, BLS Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); minimum of 2 years of NICU experience; certifications in BLS and NRP; NO degree requirement specified; must have experience with Level 3 NICU environments, including ventilator management and neonatal emergencies.
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts run from 7 pm to 7 am, every other weekend, and include holiday shifts coordinated with permanent staff.
Additional Job Details: Candidates should have experience caring for all gestational ages, preferably with travel experience and bilingual Spanish speaking skills. The unit manages a diverse patient demographic, including premature infants and those requiring cooling therapy. The team operates Cerner electronic medical records, and orientation requires 2-3 shifts.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with deliveries, neonatal cooling procedures, and substance withdrawal cases. Ability to work float to labor and delivery or postpartum units is preferred.
