Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level III/IV NICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring OH or compact RN licensure and significant float flexibility across specialties and campuses.

Details

• NICU setting caring for neonates ranging from <24-28 weeks to >34 weeks gestation
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Float requirement to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, and MS as needed
• May float to BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU with average length of stay of 2-3 years, requiring comfort with frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement
• Rare float requirement to ED
• Float requirement to other campuses including Riverside, St. Ann's, Grant Medical, Dublin Methodist, and Doctors Hospital
• Epic EMR experience required
• High-risk delivery attendance required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand
• BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), high frequency ventilation, and oscillators
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) preferred
• Experience with ECMO and pre-cardiac surgery care preferred
• Skilled in managing neonatal conditions including NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, respiratory distress syndrome, and neonatal sepsis
• Two supervisory references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care including administration of emergency medications, surfactants, and anti-seizure medications
• Support neonatal patients with conditions such as neonatal abstinence syndrome, seizure disorders, and hyperbilirubinemia
• Assist with procedures including lumbar puncture and ICP monitoring
• Manage respiratory support including bubble CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Provide breastfeeding support and manage feeding needs including gavage and post-abdominal surgery care
• Floating to different units and campuses is a strong point of emphasis for this facility
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at this health system within the past 2 years
• No local candidates allowed within a 60-mile radius
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
