Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level III/IV NICU RN for a day-shift assignment requiring OH or compact RN licensure and prior high-acuity neonatal experience.

Details

• Level III/IV Neonatal ICU setting caring for neonates ranging from under 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Uses Epic charting system
• Float requirement to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, medical-surgical, and occasionally ED units
• Float requirement to BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU with average length of stay of 2-3 years, requiring comfort with frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement
• May float to additional campuses within the health system
• No guaranteed unit assignment due to floating expectations

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required, including at least 1 year of Level IV NICU experience
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, respiratory distress syndrome, ventilator management, and neonatal sepsis care required
• Familiarity with conditions such as NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, and neonatal abstinence syndrome required
• Two professional references required at time of consideration, with at least one from a manager or supervisor

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive neonatal ICU nursing care including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and infectious disease management
• Support high-risk deliveries and provide thermoregulation care for premature and critically ill neonates
• Two-part interview process including an initial screening with the float pool leader followed by a unit manager review
• Not eligible for candidates who have worked in a permanent role at the facility within the past 2 years
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Floating to other units and campuses is a firm requirement of this assignment
