Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring 2 years of neonatal ICU experience and ventilator management skills.

Details

  • Level III NICU setting caring for neonates, including pre-term infants under 24-28 weeks and infants over 34 weeks
  • Duties include feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), IV therapy, and line management
  • Ventilator management required, including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP modes
  • Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line blood draw
  • Experience with central line/implanted line care and UVC (umbilical vein catheter) required
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and infectious disease protocols
  • Experience caring for neonates with neonatal abstinence syndrome and neurologic conditions
  • Two supervisory references (Manager or above) required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of consideration
  • Holiday coverage required: if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if 3 major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
