Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU night shift position requiring 2 years of Level III NICU experience and an OK or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00
  • Weekend requirement of 5 shifts per 6 weeks, facility-set schedule
  • Patient ratio of 1:2-3
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • May float within scope to other units or sister facilities within a 75-mile radius as needed
  • Block scheduling requests not accommodated

Requirements

  • Active OK or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, NRP/NALS, and STABLE
  • Experience with IV therapy, arterial and central line management, and administration of blood/blood products
  • Experience with UAC/UVC care, phototherapy, and neonatal feeding management
  • Experience with high frequency ventilation, oscillators, and Nitric Oxide (iNO) therapy
  • Experience with neonatal dosage calculations, surfactant administration, and neonatal sepsis management
  • Experience caring for neonates ranging from <24-28 weeks to >34 weeks gestation
  • Valid driver's license or state-issued ID plus a utility bill in the traveler's name matching a permanent address more than 75 miles from the facility, dated within the last 3 months
  • Two supervisory references required

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive neonatal critical care including respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurologic support
  • Deliver developmental care and patient/family teaching
  • Support breastfeeding and proper handling of breast milk
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be more than 75 miles from the facility
  • Maximum of 5 days RTO accepted per 13-week assignment, with no holiday RTO permitted
  • Former employees must have at least 1 year of separation from the facility to be eligible
  • No block scheduling requests will be accommodated
