NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Assignment in Edmonds, WA

Join our healthcare team as a NICU Registered Nurse in Edmonds, Washington, with $1,850–$1,950 weekly pay. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to provide compassionate care for infants in a Level II NICU and normal newborn setting while gaining valuable neonatal nursing experience in a supportive Pacific Northwest community. Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Healthcare Setting: Level II NICU and normal newborn care
  • Patient Population: Infants, including neonates 32 weeks gestation and older
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Shifts per Week: 3
  • Weekly Hours: 36
  • Schedule: Night shift; floating may be required based on staffing needs

NICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of recent NICU or neonatal nursing experience
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Washington; compact license must be in hand at submission when applicable
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Current CLS certification
  • Experience caring for infants in a Level II NICU setting
  • Ability to float to nearby affiliated units or facilities when staffing needs require
  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Two professional references covering at least one year of recent experience

NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate neonatal nursing care to infants in a Level II NICU and normal newborn setting
  • Care for neonates at 32 weeks gestation and older in accordance with unit standards
  • Attend vaginal, cesarean, and high-risk deliveries
  • Provide respiratory support, including CPAP and BiPAP management
  • Perform and monitor enteral feedings using bottle, breast, gavage, and feeding tubes
  • Use syringe pumps and complete neonatal dosage calculations accurately
  • Place and manage oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes as indicated
  • Apply ventilator management experience across applicable modes, including AC, PC, SIMV, CPAP, BiPAP, and PEEP
  • Recognize changes in neonatal condition and escalate concerns promptly
  • Collaborate with providers, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
  • Float as needed while practicing within demonstrated competencies; care of mother-baby couplets is not expected unless the nurse has the appropriate skills and experience
