American Consultants is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Fullerton, California.

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, NICU – Fullerton, CA 92835

Start Date: August 18, 2026

Location: Fullerton, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:30). Weekend coverage may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs. Float to mother baby unit as needed.

Highlights:

  • Level III NICU with 14 beds serving neonates from 23 weeks to term infants
  • Neonatologist in-house 24/7 providing comprehensive support
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 with experience at this ratio required
  • Open bay layout with 1 isolation room and 1 private room
  • Delivery team attends all high-risk deliveries and urgent calls
  • 91-day assignment with 40 hours of orientation

Requirements:

  • Active California RN license (must be in hand prior to submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required (1.5 years may be considered); first-time travelers must have 4 years of Level III NICU experience
  • BLS and NRP certifications required; NRP Advanced preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Experience with 1:3 patient ratios required
  • Proficiency with charting systems required (Meditech used at this facility)
  • Comprehensive NICU skills including ventilator management, high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, UAC/UVC management, therapeutic hypothermia, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
  • LA fire card within the last 30 days required
  • Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
