Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160

• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit: Level III NICU with approximately 30 beds and a daily census of 18
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:3
• Patient Population: Neonates, including infants born at 22 weeks and beyond
• Charting: Epic experience required
• Call: Not required
• Orientation: Provided before independent assignment
• Additional Scheduling Note: Floating to a nearby affiliated campus may be required

NICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent NICU Registered Nurse experience
• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Recent Epic electronic health record charting experience
• Strong knowledge of neonatal assessment, medication administration, respiratory support, and developmental care
• Ability to care for critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU environment
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for neonates requiring Level III NICU services.
• Perform neonatal assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Manage respiratory support, including bubble CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and neonatal ventilator therapy.
• Provide care involving UACs, UVCs, central lines, IV therapy, arterial lines, and blood product administration.
• Support feeding plans, including bottle, breast, and gavage feedings, along with breast milk handling and breastfeeding education.
• Administer medications safely and perform neonatal dosage calculations.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and provide APGAR scoring and immediate neonatal care.
• Support treatment for neonatal sepsis, respiratory distress syndrome, hyperbilirubinemia, and other complex neonatal conditions.
• Provide phototherapy, thermoregulation, developmental care, isolation precautions, and family education.
• Accurately document patient care in Epic and collaborate with respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, physical therapy, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
