• Setting: Level II Trauma Center / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center / Teaching Hospital
• Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: Weekend coverage required; floating between units may be expected
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,050 - $2,160
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 depending on assignment

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission; compact license accepted
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Recent experience with Epic preferred and required for consideration
• Ability to care for neonates across a range of acuity levels
• Strong skills in neonatal assessment, monitoring, and family-centered care
• Comfortable working nights, weekends, and floating as needed
• References required during compliance and prior to start
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced acute care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to neonates in the NICU
• Monitor and manage infants requiring advanced respiratory and developmental support
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other ordered treatments
• Support ventilator management in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Perform and assist with neonatal procedures such as line care, blood draws, and feeding support
• Assess patient status frequently and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Educate and support families with compassionate communication and bedside teaching
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols
• Float between approved units as needed, including caring for pediatric patients under age 2 on pediatric units
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support the best possible outcomes for each infant
