Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level III NICU RN with prior NICU experience and NRP certification for a day-shift assignment.

Details

• Level III NICU setting caring for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above, including infants <24-28 weeks
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication administration
• Manages ventilator settings including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP
• Performs arterial line management, central line care, and UAC/UVC management
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including NP, pharmacy, respiratory, radiology, PT, social services, and interpretation services

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required, including Level III and Level IV settings
• Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Proficiency in GI feeding methods and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes required
• Expertise in infection control measures, IV therapy, and umbilical line management required
• Experience administering IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN or higher (no coworker references)

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive neonatal care focused on respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and infectious disease management
• Utilize SBAR communication method for effective interaction with providers and families
• Manage neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions
• Care for neonates requiring surgical or cardiac interventions transferred to the main campus
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance deadlines
• Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
• RTO must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this health system
• First-time travelers not specifically excluded but travel experience is not required
