Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring at least 3 years of NICU experience and specialized skills including ventilators, oscillators, and care for micro preemies.

Details

  • Hospital-based Level III NICU setting
  • Patient population ranges from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months of age, primarily admitted from labor and delivery
  • Conditions treated include extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome
  • Services provided include noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, High Frequency Oscillation, and nitric oxide inhalation therapy
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week)
  • On-call is required
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license — no pending licenses accepted; DC RN license required
  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, NRP, and STABLE
  • Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
  • Level III NICU experience required, including vents, oscillators, pressors, and care for micro preemies
  • US Social Security Number required
  • Date of birth required for consideration
  • Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

  • Nurses respond to neonatal emergencies, providing assessment and immediate care to newborns post-delivery and attend all C-sections and high-risk deliveries
  • Bedside procedures include peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, parenteral therapy, blood and blood product administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and parent teaching
  • Most diagnostic services are provided at the bedside
  • All certifications must be AHA-issued
